Hawaiian Wedding Themes - Surfing
One of the most popular of Hawaiian wedding themes is surfing.
Of course you don't have to be anywhere near Hawaii to enjoy a good surf
party.
When I think of surfing, California and the Beach Boy's tunes like "Little Surfer Girl"
and "Surfin' U.S.A." come to mind. If you go to the East Coast, there's
Cocoa Beach - Home of the East Coast Surfing Hall of Fame
Museum and of course the world's largest surf shop, Ron Jon Surf Shop!
You really should see Ron Jon's. It is Awesome!
If you and your partner are surfing enthusiasts, a beach wedding with a surf
theme would be such fun! Wedding attire would be very casual. Colorful surf
shorts and sun dresses. Hey, if you are really
into it, wear your wet suits if you want to...stranger things have been done in the wacky world
of weddings! Your going for more of a fun theme than a romantic one here!
Coming up with places to find "surf stuff" was not as easy as I thought it would
be. There is a lot of "Lilo & Stitch" stuff out there, but I was looking for
great decorating items for a beach surf wedding theme. I checked shops that
carry wedding supplies for Hawaiian wedding themes but they were very
limited.
That's okay, I'm stubborn! I kept searching until I finally found some great
stuff.
Hopefully, these ideas will get you started...
* Okay, you may think I'm nuts, but this would be cool!
Have "surf boards" for wedding invitations. Check out these invitations at
Creative Card Shop. Did you look? You can have whatever you want printed on
them or, order them blank and do your own.
* To set the stage for your beach side vows, how about making
your wedding arch with surf boards propped upright in the sand? Line the path to the
"alter" with colored starfish. It would be a welcome
change to the standard "lattice board" arch. Very cool and original!
* For perfect casual wedding dresses for Hawaiian wedding themes, check out the Hawaiian Wedding Shop!
* Your dress is going to be very casual, but in keeping
with your surf theme, here's a Surfer Girl Garter to toss at the end of the day!
* There are oodles of cake ideas for Hawaiian wedding themes.
I have a couple of ideas here though. Here you will find a surf board theme
wedding cake. I know it's "Lilo" from "Lilo & Stitch", but it is pretty and gives
you ideas.
* Here's an even better idea. Have wedding cupcakes.
They are way more practical for a beach wedding and easy to serve. The best part? Stick one of these
colorful mini surf
boards on each one to decorate! They are so pretty and they may serve as
a little "keepsake". How perfect is that?
* If you don't like those ideas, visit Cake Central. Grab a coffee and some munchies before you go though. You will be
there for a while. You have to become a member to view the galleries but there is no
money and no loss of privacy involved. It is well worth the 10 seconds it takes to sign up.
It is the best and largest cake gallery I have seen on the Internet and there are lots of photos for
Hawaiian wedding themes.
* Save yourself some money. Bake and decorate your own cake.
Here is great place for a truly amazing selection of
cake decorations!
* Your reception could just be a fun "burgers and beer"
cookout. Usually the beach rules will allow you to barbeque as long as it is an enclosed fire. Be
sure to check first though. Don't forget the Beach Boys tunes!
* Accent your reception area with these totally neat
surf board table coolers. Not only do they keep your guests drinks
cool, but they make great centerpieces too!
* If you are stuck for surf theme favors try these
surf board place card/picture
frames. Or...give everyone a fun beach hat favor!
One more thought about Hawaiian wedding themes and
particularly, surfing themes...
If you are considering a destination wedding with a surf theme, check out
Florida's World Famous Cocoa Beach.
Actually, now that
I think about it, check out Ron Jons Surf Shop in
Cocoa Beach online. It's a great place to find your surf theme wedding favors! They have really cool surfboard key chains,
neat drink coolers and so much more. All of it surf related. I think Ron Jons is almost as famous as
Cocoa Beach itself! Seriously, if you are in the neighborhood...go there! You be lost in that store for
hours!
