Hi
Well, since spring and warm weather are here, I had to do it. I had no choice.
I went to the beach. My intention was to get a tan and boy, did I! Don't
ever be fooled by a partially cloudy day.
I've never been one to just lay in the sun but I can walk a beach for hours
exploring. I find the creatures and shells fascinating. Every trip to the
beach brings a different adventure.
Sometimes you will find loads of sand dollars, other times none. The month of May will find
the horseshoe crabs mating on the shores and the sea turtles laying their eggs
at night. If you have never seen a sea turtle up close, these are awesome creatures.
I actually sat for two hours one evening while one laid her eggs in a deep
hole in the sand. That old girl was as big as the hood of my car.
Originally from "No Where Near A Beach, Canada", I am amazed by stuff like that
and thankful to be close enough to a beach to see it.

Jekyll Island
Since the beach I walked today was St. Andrews at Jekyll Island, Georgia,
I thought hmmm...
Jekyll Island is part of the "Golden Isles". It is a small island with minimal
commercialism. What is there is "cream of the crop" though. The entire island
is a state park so it has not been developed to death. Basically, it has been
left pretty much to nature. Golfing, hiking, bicycle trails and a huge water
park are the biggest attractions. The scenery is beautiful and there is a
charming little gazebo just for small ocean front weddings.

Theme of the Month - Butterflies
With spring in the air, butterfly wedding themes become more prominent.
Symbolic of romance, adventure and transition, the butterfly captures the essence
of "new beginnings" for a bride and groom perfectly.
Their beautiful, soft, powdery colors, their freedom to fly and their delicate poise,
make butterflies a natural choice for beach or outdoor wedding themes.
Since butterflies come in such a variety of sizes and colors, they add flexibility
to your planning. In the spring, you may choose butterflies of light pastel colors as
opposed to brighter, more vibrant ones later in the summer.
Every aspect of your wedding from your invitations to your gown can reflect your choice
of a wedding theme. You can also accent your butterfly theme with the use of wildflowers
which butterflies are naturally attracted to.
Here are a few "Do-It-Yourself" ideas to get you
started...
